Marisa Arellano Velazquez
Marisa handles public relations, marketing and volunteer coordination for Native American Connections. She has seven years of experience in marketing, PR and special events. Her background covers both non-profit and for-profit organizations and most recently she handled public relations for a Phoenix advertising agency. She has a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies and a Mater's Degree in Communication & Advocacy both from Arizona State University. She serves on the 2010 Census Native American Complete Count Committee, the 2010 City of Phoenix Census Minority Outreach Committee and the Native American Recognition Days Committee. Marisa also has a dance performance and choreography background and had the honor of serving as the choreographer for the 2009 Miss Indian Arizona Pageant and will return for the 2010 pageant in the fall.
