Sunrise
Circle is Native American Connections newest affordable housing
community. Sunrise Circle is a 35-unit affordable housing community
located in the thriving 40th Street and Thomas area with easy access
to shopping, entertainment, bus transportation and potential employers;
Sunrise Circle is a dream come true to those seeking low-income
affordable housing. These brand new, fully furnished studio and
one bedroom apartments offer a large, fully appointed kitchen with
pantry; ample closet and storage space, and bright, cheery interior
finishes. Residents pay their electric, which is Salt River Project.
Each apartment faces a courtyard with an expansive greenbelt area
and a community room for resident meetings. An onsite City of Phoenix
Police Department Substation offers our residents and the neighborhood
an extra measure of security. Our housing case manager is available
for those in housing to assist with entitlement and job search.
Rental Criteria
- Families or individuals who are homeless.
- Permanent apartments require a family income of a minimum of
$17,400 annually for a studio and $19,500 annually for a one bedroom.
In addition, annual adjusted gross income must be less than $20,500
for one person, $23,450 for a family of 2 and for a family of
3 - $26,350.
- Background check is required with no felonies or misdemeanor
convictions of crimes against persons or sexual assault.
- All residents must agree to Program participation which includes
having all entitlements or securing employment within 90 days
of occupancy and drug and alcohol free
- Monthly rental rate is based on 30% of the family’s monthly
adjusted gross income
- Permanent housing required a disability that is certified by
a healthcare provider.
Catherine Arms
Catherine
Arms is conveniently located downtown at 4th Avenue and Fillmore
across from the Pappas School. With the adjacent bus line and central
location, Catherine Arms offers easy access to employment and entertainment.
This quaint, courtyard apartment property provides a strong sense
of community to its residents. The onsite day care, full time workforce
housing case manager and utility paid, furnished studio and one
bedroom apartments, provide families with the opportunity to regain
their self sufficiency in a safe environment. Furnished, studio
and one bedroom apartments with utilities included are available.
Rental Criteria:
- Families who are homeless.
- Annual adjusted gross income must be less than $20,500 for a
single individual; $23,450 for a family of 2; and $26,350 for
a family of three.
- Background check required with no felonies or misdemeanor convictions
of crimes against persons or sexual assault.
- All residents must agree to Program participation which includes
being employed within 90 days of initial occupancy and drug and
alcohol free
- Monthly rental rate is based on 30% of the family’s monthly
adjusted gross income
- Transitional and Permanent Supportive apartments are available
- Transitional housing is for a maximum of 24 months. Permanent
housing requires a disability that is certified by a healthcare
provider.
Stepping Stone Place
Stepping
Stone Place, a 48 unit single occupancy, permanent, Section 8 housing
property is set on 3 acres of lush green lawn. The property is conveniently
located at 14th Street and McDowell, on the bus line and within
walking distance of retail centers as well as a major medical center.
Two, three story, historic Victorian style buildings are home to
27 residents who share two community kitchens and 6 men’s
and women’s bathrooms. 20 HIV/Aids residents reside in single
unit rooms in an expansive single story, handicapped accessible
building that also houses a commercial kitchen and community dining
room. All units are fully furnished including a personal size refrigerator
and microwave. Also, all utilities are included. Through a Supportive
Services Contract with the City of Phoenix, Native American Connections
is able to provide all residents with breakfast and lunch 5 days
a week, prepared by our talented cook. On site housing case management
is available to assist residents in securing entitlements or to
gain employment or educational opportunities.

- Single individuals who are homeless.
- Annual adjusted gross income of less than $20,500.
- Background check conducted by the City of Phoenix Section 8
Department is required with no felonies or misdemeanor convictions
of crimes against persons or sexual assault.
- All residents must agree to Program participation which includes
having all entitlements or securing employment within 90 days
of occupancy and drug and alcohol free.
- Permanent property based Section 8 is not transferable to any
other property. The resident pays a portion of the $348 monthly
rent, as determined by Section 8, based on 30% of the individual’s
monthly adjusted gross income.
- Security deposit is $50, payable prior to move-in.

centers and many other features. One community is a low-income housing
tax credit community that targets working families at less than
$31,500 per year for a family of 5. Another one of the communities
targets persons over 62 years of age in an independent,
secure, living environment.
