In honor of Earth Day April 22, 2009
04.22.09
In honor of Earth Day, Native American Connections (NAC) employee Angel Cadue organized a contest to bring awareness of protecting Mother Earth. Contestants were asked to make chalk drawings - on the concrete courtyard area adjacent to NAC's Administration office at 4520 N. Central - their understanding of what Earth Day means to them, whether protecting her natural resources, recycling, reducing pollution or other. There were over 20 participants and winners were picked by popular vote. They are: 1st prize (NAC bag): Manny Castro, 2nd prize (t-shirt): Leon Bread, 3rd prize (cap and $5 gift certificate): Jill Marchi. Names of voters were placed in a drawing for a door prize and the winner of a gift certificate is Jacque John. Let us continue to be reminded to protect our natural resources, recycle regularly, and be conscious and aware of our daily habits!
