July's Adopt-A-Room brought eight decorated rooms to Guiding Star all which sizzled with style!
Three rooms were painted during this session. One client's room even received wood storage bins, hand made French boards and a personal framed letter wishing the clients well on their new path- all from the AZ Commission on Indian Affairs Team.
Other exciting room decor included bight green lamps in a nature inspired room designed by AZ Pride Fitness, a series of inspirational plaques in an employee and friends of NAC room, a striking Diego Rivera picture in Gila River Behavioral Health Services room, hand sewn blankets in a room decorated by the NAC Intake Team and a beautiful framed picture of Taos Pueblo in New Mexico featured in a room decorated by a donor and friend of NAC.
July's Adopt-A-Room brings the total number of room adopted since the December ?09 kick-off to 22! Only five rooms are available for the fall 2010 session.
Community members have had a great time with this program and their generosity has completely transformed the rooms at Guiding Star! "I love my new room! It really does make me feel welcome here", stated a current Guiding Star client.
NAC is currently working on plans to move the Adopt-A-Room program over to Indian Rehabilitation, the men's residential treatment center, upon completion of the rooms at Guiding Star.
