Dana Schmidt is a Human Resources Business Consultant at Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company (Nationwide), a Fortune 100 Company. At Nationwide, he is responsible for determining and delivering human capital strategy for the excess and surplus/specialty insurance business segments. In addition, Dana serves as a leadership team member on Nationwide’s Community Engagement Council, advancing their philanthropic objectives, workplace giving and volunteerism.
During Dana’s 20+ year Human Resources (HR) career, he has held a number of leadership roles including, but not limited to, serving as the Vice President of HR at Carefree Communities, Director of Total Rewards at LifeLock and Vice President of HR at Zions Bancorporation.
Dana earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and his Bachelor of Science degree in HR and Economics from Minnesota State University. His professional designations include the Society for HR Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), World at Work Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and HR Certification Institute Senior Professional in HR (SPHR).
Dana resides in Scottsdale with his partner Brandon. When not working, Dana and Brandon enjoy trying out new restaurants, experiencing new cultures through travelling, hiking mountains and downhill skiing.
